Lotus Yoga Centre

relax and unwind with our onsite yoga centre and therapy rooms

The Lotus Yoga Centre has been on this site for the last 35 years. Its founder Eric Doornekamp, and later with his wife Cathryn Doornekamp, have provided Yoga, Tai Chi Qigong, Massage and Iridology to the community throughout this time. The new Centre will provide not only the same high quality yoga, tai chi qigong and meditation classes, but with the new Centre will be able to offer the services of other therapists too, e.g. Thai Massage and Reiki.

Community House

The community house will be a great place to meet, share a dinner with other residents and relax. If you want, you can book the space so you and your friends can get together for a meeting or celebration. There will be full kitchen facilities and tables and chairs for up to 60 people.

Guest Accommodation

for workshop facilitators or family

We are creating a studio apartment on the top level of the community house for guests of the Lotus Eco Village. All residents will have access to a certain number of days per year for that overflow of family or friends. If any spare time is available it will be rented on AirBnB for the benefit of the community as a whole.

Vegetable Gardens & Village Green

FOOD FOR ALL and open green space

We will be putting in communal vegetable gardens and planting fruit and nut trees. The community will manage these and everyone will work together to grow  food for all community members. These will be set around the village green, an open space for all to enjoy!

OUR CREATIVE SPACE

The old double garage will be converted into our workshop and will house workbenches and tools for all to use. Imagine being able to create and build things with like-minded people.

The Lotus Eco Village philosophy is all about community - the way they used to be with helping your neighbours and working together, with no gates and fences to keep people out. The Lotus Eco Village will meld into its surrounding bush clad site making the most of sun, native trees and birds. The Kapiti Coast is a fast growing area with a great climate and easy access to the capital city.
